About Runway25

Initially formed in 2015 as Club Coins UK, a specialist coin company, our product range evolved along with our customer base leading to a rebrand in September 2019 to Runway25.

Runway25 is an online shop that has challenge coins, patches and key rings as core products. Runway25 owner, Tom, has first hand experience of the armed forces having served in the British Army as a technician on the Apache helicopter. This knowledge of the forces, combined with passion for aviation enables us to continue to deliver quality products with modern designs and excellent customer service.

We’re really excited for what the future holds at Runway25.

Tom Newey
Owner/Managing Director

Tom is a self-taught graphic designer and entrepreneur and with his ambition has ensured the company has grown its client base of retail customers and squadrons year on year. His collection of patches started as a young boy, often writing off to Sqns to ask if they could send him their patches.
Following his career in the Army and the creation of Challenge Coins UK, Tom wanted to branch out into the world of retail for aviation enthusiasts and created the company that is now Runway25. His passion for all things aviation has led to him finding a team of likeminded individuals to create the Runway25 family that delivers high quality and uniquely designed products for Clients and collectors alike.
In his little downtime Tom still enjoys the odd day out aircraft spotting and now taking his young son Henry to aircraft museums across the country.

James Lawrence
Lead Product Designer/Operations Manager

James has been a graphic designer by trade all of his career and a keen aviation enthusiast all his life. The ability to combine the two passions into a job is a dream come true. With over 25 years of experience across a broad range of sectors he has worked with many aviation related customers such as Ian Allan Publishing, Midland Publishing, Harpia Publishing, Red Kite Publishing, Just Flight, PC Pilot Magazine, The Aviation Bookshop, Serco Aerospace and many Royal Air Force Units to name but a few. James is responsible for some of the most eye-catching and highest quality products in the industry which is why squadrons choose Runway25 time and time again.

Dave Ellins

Admin/Operations Assistant

Dave joined Runway25 in 2024. Day-to-day he deals with incoming enquiries, invoicing, planning our appearances at events around the country and ensuring the website is up to date. Outside of work he has an unhealthy interest in photographing military aviation around the U.K. In addition to this he is also a keen challenge coin and patch collector for the last 10 years.

Jack Bird

Designer

Jack joined the Runway25 team in October 2025.  Jack has been an aviation fan for as long as he can remember. After years of collecting patches, Jack started designing them in 2023. Outside of work, you can find Jack camera in hand shooting fast jets and war birds over the sky’s of the UK or the fast balls of county cricket at Trent Bridge.

Hannah Newey

Production Manager

Hannah has recently joined her husband Tom and the Runway25 team after leaving her career in Engineering Geology to become the Production Manager of our new embroidery side of the business following the retirement of Terrane Ltd.
Hannah is heading up a new team of embroidery machinists in our new warehouse location and will be liaising with new and existing clients and producing a range of embroidered products. Together with her new team, Hannah is currently designing a new line of products for Runway25 that can be produced in low runs in-house with short lead times.
Outside of work Hannah and Tom have their hands full with their young son Henry who is becoming a regular appearance at Runway25 trade events and a keen aviation enthusiast.

Eleanor Middlehurst

Embroidery Machinist

El has recently joined the Runway25 team as an embroidery machinist and is helping streamline the process of name badge, patch and clothing embroidery orders to improve productivity and reduce lead times for customers. El joins us following roles in embroidery as well as laser engraving and hand making leather products as well as her own sideline of hand making wire-based armatures for stop-motion animators.  El will be helping the Runway25 expand the products we will be able to produce in our new warehouse for all our Runway25 customers over the coming year.

Due to the increase of incoming shipments and outgoing deliveries he is an integral part of the team. Outside of Runway25 he also works as a personal trainer in a local gym and is huge fan of Chelsea FC.

Martin Coates

Martin joined the team in October 2021 after a lengthy career in the police service. He oversees the incoming and outgoing shipments for both retail and squadron orders to ensure they get to where they need to be in a timely and well packaged fashion.
