Belle Vue Speedway
The World’s most famous and longest running speedway club, Belle Vue Aces were one of our customers in early 2016. The Aces were due to move into a brand new multi million-pound National Speedway Stadium in March of that year and wanted to produce merchandise worthy of such an occasion.
After discussions with The Aces’ then CEO David Gordon and club legend turned Operations Director Chris Morton, two initial design proofs were provided for review. After some minor alterations the design was finalised to incorporate the Aces and National Speedway Stadium logos. It was also decided that a presentation box would be made to enable a higher retail price to be set.
The coins and boxes were delivered ahead of schedule and proved a hit with the fans. We were grateful for CEO David Gordon’s testimonial.
“In March 2016, Belle Vue Aces Speedway opened the brand new National Speedway Stadium in Manchester. To make sure this long awaited event didn’t pass without commemoration, we decided to commission a bespoke coin by Club Coins UK.
Tom came to meet us to show samples and discuss designs he had produced, we loved the feel of the coins and instantly knew they would be a special product befitting of such an occasion. Tom made any changes to the design that we wanted, no matter how small, in order to make sure we were 100% happy with the finished article.
Once released, the coins proved really popular with our fans. We are proud to be the first speedway club to work with Tom at Club Coins UK and can see potential for further projects in the future.”
Thrust SSC 20th Anniversary – Bloodhound Project
The Bloodhound SSC Project were in the process of building a car to break the World Land Speed Record when they approached Club Coins UK to commission a coin for their online shop. After a meeting to discuss the requirements and show samples it was decided to commission a coin to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of Bloodhound’s predecessor, Thurst SSC’s successful World Land Speed Record bid in 1997.
Club Coins UK designers incorporated one of the original Thrust SSC logos into their design with some patriotic twists and factual information from the World Record run. The coins were designed at a diameter of 2” to allow for as much detail as possible. They were finished in fitted black presentation boxes.
The coins were delivered in good time for the 20th Anniversary of the World Record being set and were sold by the Bloodhound SSC project to raise funds for their own run. Here’s what Ian Glover from Bloodhound had to say:
“2017 saw the 20th Anniversary of Thrust SSC breaking the World land speed record. The Bloodhound Project wanted to mark this occasion with a product of appropriate quality and decided on a boxed commemorative coin from Club Coins UK. The design of the coin was produced very quickly and incorporated the original Thrust SSC logo with some modern twists.
The pricing of the coins is reasonable and the finished product is one of very high quality. The customer service from start to finish has been exceptional and we look forward to working with Club Coins UK again in the near future.”
Gatwick Aviation Museum - First public Saudi Lightning engine runs.
The Gatwick Aviation Museum has been working to restore a former Saudi Arabian Lightning F53 to a ground running condition. Once complete, the museum unveiled the aircraft to the public with a static engine run. For this occasion the museum commissioned a limited edition of 53 coins for sale on the day.
A plan view of the lightning with a brushed metal effect has been created on the obverse of the coin laid over the green and white colours of the Royal Saudi Air Force. A numbering bar sits below the tail of the lightning, making them a limited edition. The reverse of the coin has the museum’s logo on in full colour.
The coins were delivered for the first public run of the Lightning at the museum where they became a hit with those attending. Museum manager Ashley provided this testimonial:
“I would just like to extend a massive thank you to Tom from Club Coins UK. The coins were a complete success and sold out in one day. I look forward to working with Tom again on a new project soon”
Once released, the coins proved really popular with our fans. We are proud to be the first speedway club to work with Tom at Club Coins UK and can see potential for further projects in the future.”
