Description

Ireland Sikorsky S92 Search and Rescue Stand Down PVC Patch

Patch design by Ethan Bennett and S92 crew from Ireland to mark the final flights of Sikorsky S92’s operating Search and Rescue in Ireland. The helicopter operated in Ireland from 2012 to 2026 at bases in Dublin, Waterford, Sligo and Shannon. The patch features silhouette of S92 and winchman at iconic Metal Man Tramore coastline near the final base location at Waterford Airport. The Metal Man statue was erected in 1824 to warn ships of the dangerous coastline along the south east of Ireland. The Gaelic “Go Raibh Maith Agat” is simply translated as “thank you”. The 4 stars in the night sky reference the four crew members Dara, Mark, Paul and Ciarán who tragically lost their lives on the S92 accident R116 in 2017.
